BEEL conducts behavioral experiments associated with scientific questions typically asked in Economics and related fields. We are looking for students from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Université Libre de Bruxelles that would like to participate in such experiments.
During such an experiment, participants anonymously interact with other participants via a computer or tablet. Participants receive a payment corresponding to their experimental gains, where this amount can vary between studies. The exact amount of money depends on the decisions made by oneself and other participants during the experiment. The experiments do not involve other tasks than making decisions during anonymous interactions, and answering questions via the computer, unless this is explicitly mentioned in an invitation.
Are you interested in earning money for your decisions and answering our questions, support science and gain some insight into this research field? Then be welcome to participate in our experiments!
In order to participate, you first need to subscribe to the participants database via this web site. Every now and then you will receive a message inviting you for a specific experiment. At that moment you can decide whether you want to participate in a specific experiment (see Rules)
Before you subscribe to the participants database, you need to indicate that you agree with the rules we follow. Please read the information provided on our web site concerning:
Since students of different nationalities can participate, most experiments will be conducted in English, unless it is stated differently.
At BEEL, all information participants get during our studies is true. This implies:
- We never deceive participants. For example, if we inform you that another participant is making a choice on which you then can react, this is indeed the case.
- We keep our promises made to participants. For example, if we promise a certain payment, participants will indeed receive it.
- In case we are responsible for a mistake that is to the disadvantage of participants, we will inform and compensate the respective participants.
We design, conduct and report our research in accordance with recognized scientific standards and ethical principles.
